Brand Identity & Launch Kit

Brand identity for Chennai businesses.

Softglimmer designs brand identities and launch materials for Chennai businesses introducing a new offer, refreshing familiar assets or improving everyday consistency. The commission can include positioning inputs, logo direction, typography, colour, guidelines and selected applications. Our studio is in Ranchi, with remote creative reviews and a defined handover. We agree what needs to change, what recognition should remain and which files your team will actually use.

An example journey, shaped around your requirements.

The service you can commission

Commission the identity, its applications or a focused refresh.

The work begins with the business you want people to recognise. We discuss the audience, your offering, approved business information and any existing recognition worth keeping. Those inputs form a creative brief against which design choices can be reviewed. A request for a modern logo alone leaves important decisions about tone, use and ownership unresolved.

The agreed scope can bring together logo or wordmark direction, typography, a colour system and conventions for layout, imagery and icons. We then apply that direction to the website assets, proposal, presentation or social materials selected for the commission. Representative content helps reveal whether the system works beyond a short demonstration headline.

You can commission this full identity work without having several service labels to reconcile. The example below illustrates one design decision, rather than defining the whole service. Website development, naming, campaign production, printing and legal clearance are identified separately wherever required.

Choose the starting point

Choose the change your business needs.

We define the commission before choosing how many materials to produce.

01

Create a new identity

Bring the intended audience, business name and useful positioning inputs. We develop the agreed visual direction and review it in representative applications, with a clear decision maker and defined feedback stages.

02

Refresh an established identity

Review the current mark and working materials before discarding recognisable elements. A focused correction to typography, colour or layout may be appropriate; a changed logo needs an explicit reason and approval.

03

Extend approved assets into a launch kit

Start from assets you are authorised to use. Specify the website, social or document outputs required, their editable formats and the people using them. Additional channels remain a separate scope decision.

What the proposal can include

Six output groups to agree in the proposal.

The selected files and review stages depend on the brief, rather than an unlimited list of concepts or revisions.

01

Audience and creative brief

A written direction records the offer, intended audience, communication priorities and recognition to preserve. It gives reviewers a common basis for feedback and identifies business wording still awaiting approval.

02

Logo and wordmark direction

Develop or refine the agreed mark, then specify the required lockups and variants. Review small and larger uses before approving the commissioned master files and exports.

03

Colour and typography system

Define a usable hierarchy of colours and text styles for the chosen materials. Record the selected font sources, any licence requirements and the person responsible for obtaining them.

04

Layout and imagery conventions

Show how headings, supporting graphics and photographs work together. Use realistic content to explain spacing, emphasis and image treatment, rather than leave every future editor to improvise the system.

05

Selected launch materials

Prepare the agreed website, proposal, presentation or social starter assets. Each output has a purpose, working format and approved content; print-specific production files are included only when expressly scoped.

06

Guidelines and organised handover

Supply the commissioned master files, exports and practical usage notes. Explain common mistakes, editable areas and how colleagues find the current approved version without relying on a designer’s private folder.

An optional working example

Service labels should help people understand one business.

Imagine a hypothetical Chennai company offering two service packages. Colleagues have given each package a different type style and improvised symbol in proposals, while the website uses only the company identity. A prospect may struggle to tell whether these are package names or separate businesses. This is an illustrative brief, not a delivered Chennai project. It does not involve a company renaming or a collaborator’s brand.

Set the information hierarchy first

Ask the owner to confirm the company name, service names and short descriptions. Review a proposal page and website menu together. The design can distinguish the offers while keeping the company identity recognisable; creating separate logos is a choice to evaluate, not the automatic next step.

Check a normal material with real copy

Use a longer package name and an ordinary paragraph, not just a cover treatment. Ask a colleague to prepare the next document using the proposed rules. Their questions reveal where the hierarchy or instructions need clarification before the files are handed over.

Decisions before production

Resolve the practical boundaries of the kit.

These decisions help the identity remain usable after approval.

01

Which materials come first?

Choose the places customers and colleagues actually encounter the business. A defined initial set is easier to review than exports for every possible channel. Future applications can use the approved system through a separate production brief.

02

Who approves wording and rights?

Name the person approving business descriptions and the owner of supplied marks, images and fonts. A visual concept cannot resolve an uncertain name or permission. Record those dependencies before producing materials around them.

03

Which tools will the team use?

Agree the software and file formats needed for everyday reuse. Distinguish editable sources from final exports and identify dependencies. Review one ordinary update with the intended user before accepting the handover.

From brief to usable handover

Review the direction, then review its use.

Chennai and Ranchi share IST. We agree review sessions and keep consolidated decisions in writing, with one nominated approval route.

  1. 01

    Discover and scope

Share existing assets, audience information and representative materials. We identify the required outputs, unresolved content and review stages before providing a project-specific scope and estimate.

  2. 02

    Develop and assess

Review the proposed direction against the creative brief. Discuss recognition, tone and practical use, then record approval before applying the chosen system across further materials.

  3. 03

    Apply and check

Prepare the selected applications with approved content. Check sizing, readability and consistency in their intended context, and resolve the file or licence dependencies identified in the scope.

  4. 04

    Hand over the kit

Walk through the commissioned files and usage guidance with their owner. Agree who maintains the current set and how later changes or additional production requests will be approved.

Practical questions

Questions before you commission the work.

The scope and approval route should be clear before the project starts.

Can we retain our current logo?

Yes. We first review the files, their permitted use and the specific problem. A refresh can focus on type, colour, layout or applications while retaining the mark. Any change to familiar assets should be deliberate.

Does brand identity include naming or advertising?

Only when expressly agreed. The main commission covers the identity and selected launch materials. Naming, verbal identity, advertising campaigns, ongoing social management and website implementation require their own defined outputs and responsibilities.

Will you register or legally clear our name?

Design approval is not trademark registration or legal clearance. The responsible business owner must obtain appropriate advice and approvals where needed. We identify supplied names and third-party assets rather than assume their availability.

Can we see relevant work?

Our portfolio documents public website projects. Those examples do not establish logo authorship or completed identity commissions. We can discuss the proposed creative process and the actual deliverables without presenting website screenshots as evidence of unseen brand work.

How will Chennai reviews and pricing work?

We deliver remotely from our Ranchi studio. Share the current assets, intended uses and approval owners; the selected scope, formats and review arrangement shape the estimate. This page does not claim a Chennai office or local client history.
