Begin with a real piece of work from its first input to the person who uses the outcome. Establish the records, decision owners and current tools involved. Compare suitable configuration or a supported connection with the reason for a custom build. Once the route is chosen, the first release should let the agreed people finish useful work rather than leave an essential step dependent on an unspecified future module.
The software scope can include process and data modelling, interface design, application logic, administrative controls, required reports and expressly selected integrations. Imports and a move from earlier records need sample inspection, mapping and reconciliation. Supported interfaces and authorised access are investigated with their owners before a connection is promised. The agreement identifies source, deployment and account responsibilities along with the development work.
Rules for correcting work belong in the operating model from the beginning. A user may be allowed to amend a factual note, ask for a review or initiate a separate compensating action. Those permissions need different meanings and resulting records. The business chooses the rule; the implemented application must make the actual decision and the current next action recognisable to staff.
